Navinfo is the largest Digital Map Provider in China and third largest in the world. Our research team at Navinfo Europe supports business units to create maps for autonomous driving as well as classic navigation maps. Part of our mission is to evaluate latest technology for use in map automation and support business units with the integration of this technology into a production environment.
You will join our multi-cultural team Deep Learning/Computer Vision engineers within our European Advanced Research Labs. While most of the team is located in our Eindhoven office, our team is partially distributed across Europe. Our processes support remote work, yet our preference is to extend our team in Eindhoven. Keeping our team’s motivation on highest level is a core concern to us. Therefore, we allow a certain degree of individual flexibility to support a sustainable work/life balance.

You will work with up to date Deep Learning technology in a team of highly skilled professionals. Within our team we have several groups working on semantic segmentation, detection, stereo vision and 3D deep learning. The team includes PhD graduates as well as Masters with different backgrounds ranging from Applied Math to Computer science. Being a team player with excellent communication skills is a key requirement for us. As Deep Learning is a highly dynamic field, we continuously try to follow the latest technology developments. Our aim is to pick up latest technology trends quickly and evaluate it for our mission.

You will be responsible for your own products under the supervision of a project leader within the 3D deep learning group. For this group our main goal is to use deep learning to segment point cloud data in order to enable autonomous driving and map automation use cases. Part of this mission is to develop tools and processes to support point cloud labelling and validation as well as registration of images to Lidar point cloud data.
• Design of deep neural networks to tailor fit our customer requirement
• Follow technology trends in Computer Vision/Deep Learning domain
• Evaluate latest technology for use in the map automation process
• Support our partnering business units with the integration of our prototypes into a production environment
• Maintain clear and effective communication within the team and other teams as necessary

What we expect

At least a BSc degree, preferably in machine learning, computer vision, computer science, mathematics or physics
Excellent knowledge of C++
Good knowledge in fundamentals of machine learning and at least one Deep Learning framework (Tensorflow)
Experience with point cloud processing (PCL or VTK libraries)
Good knowledge of Linux or Windows,  CMake, Git, Python
English level B2 or higher

Nice to have:

Experience in the registration of image to 3D point cloud.
Experience in other 3D fields such as 3D reconstruction or 3D animation
Experience in robotics

Command of written and spoken Chinese nice to have
